Catholic Healthcare West (now CommonSpirit) developed the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in 2006 to take advantage of the explosive growth in the eastern Phoenix market. As a companion to the new hospital, CHW selected PMB to develop a medical office building to house established and newer, growing practices. An integral part of the development called for creating timeshare offices to allow physicians new to the market to become established without the substantial financial commitment that a long-term lease requires. PMB created three timeshare suites that eventually were leased by their tenants. The project helped established CHW as a major market force and led to the creation of a second MOB, Mercy Gilbert Medical Plaza II.
